LOS ANGELES – Less than two months after its launch, CreativeFuture today announced the addition of more than 80 Coalition and Creative Partners – for a total of 150 in the large and growing creative community coalition. CreativeFuture is a broad-based coalition of film and television companies, independent production and financing companies, unions, guilds, talent agencies, filmmakers, artists, and other individual members and supporters of the creative community.

“The creative community is uniting,” said CreativeFuture Executive Director Ruth Vitale. “Together, we can advocate for a vibrant digital future that better serves audiences and artists alike. We can work together to promote the value of creativity and take the profit out of piracy. We can promote audience awareness of the ever-increasing, convenient, high-quality access to our community’s creative works in ways that reward the hard work and talent of artists and creative professionals.”

“CreativeFuture’s primary goal is to encourage creatives to speak out about the value of creativity and the harm caused by piracy,” Vitale said. “For too long, many of us – even those who have been concerned about the issue – have sat on the sidelines and allowed the conversation to be driven by people who don’t understand the mutual interests that creatives, audiences, and everyone in the Internet ecosystem have in finding solutions to piracy. This cannot be a debate just among lawyers and lobbyists. That has to change. As a creative community, we need to make our voices heard.”

CreativeFuture launched on February 18 with more than 65 Coalition and Creative Partners. We now have 150 partners, including those announced today and previously.
