Campus MovieFest is the world’s largest student film festival and a premier outlet for the next generation of filmmakers. Their 15th Annual Film Summit, Campus MovieFest Hollywood, is being held this weekend (July 9 through July 12) in Los Angeles.
Fifteen years ago, we created Campus MovieFest (CMF) with both the belief that everyone has a story to tell, and with the passion to help share those stories with the world. Since then, over one million students have participated in CMF, and we’ve been amazed by the talent, creativity, and short films.
In addition to CMF, we’ve built Ideas United, a creative studio that produces incredible content and marketing solutions, often by empowering the amazing talent we’ve discovered through CMF around the globe. We’ve also seen our students graduate and begin phenomenal careers in the entertainment industry.
Throughout all of this growth, we recognize the immense importance of raising awareness about the ethical and economic implications of piracy on the creative process, while leveraging the latest technology and distribution opportunities to reach the largest audiences. We’re now honored to partner with CreativeFuture to promote the value of creativity and to fight piracy. As we think about our CMF alumni dedicating their next 50+ years to the creative industries, we share a responsibility to help ensure a future that continues to celebrate innovation and the value of content.
We hear time and time again what a difference CMF has had on the lives of our participants – from the educational opportunities to the unforgettable finales in Hollywood to the worldwide exposure. I encourage all of my team to join CreativeFuture at CreativeFuture.org/join and look for opportunities to continue making a difference for both our students as well as the community at large by taking a stand against piracy and for creativity.
