Okay – so you’re kind of an expert now and you realize that piracy is a problem.

But, you’re asking yourself, “What can I do?” GREAT QUESTION! Here’s a few steps you can take to make a HUGE difference:

STEP ONE: First and foremost – JOIN US!

CreativeFuture is a coalition of over 130,000 individuals united in the belief that CREATIVITY HAS VALUE. It doesn’t cost a penny to join us – we just want your support and your voice.

STEP TWO: Look at our current campaigns on our TAKE ACTION page.

CreativeFuture is often present in Washington, D.C. speaking with our representatives about the importance of copyright to the millions of Americans who rely on it to make a living. Your support on these issues, whether it be by signing a petition or contacting your elected officials, is vital to our success. Visit our Take Action page and make a difference!

STEP THREE: Follow us on social media and amplify our message!

CreativeFuture has tens of thousands of followers on Facebook and Twitter who regularly follow us for updates on important copyright issues. However, we’re only as loud as our followers allow us to be by sharing our posts and retweeting our tweets!

Please follow us and help us get the word out!

STEP FOUR: Talk to your friends about the dangers of piracy.

You’ve now visited our “Why?” page, where you viewed our “Value of Creativity” video and read our facts document (at least the shortened version!), and have become an expert. Right? RIGHT!

It’s now time to speak to your friends about the issues!

What’s killing the creative economy, which contributes $1.2 TRILLION to the US Economy, more than anything is the normalization of piracy. We both know that piracy is stealing, but it often doesn’t feel that way since it’s so easy and that’s what’s so dangerous.

If you have a friend who pirates content, resist the urge to punch them in the face. Instead, tell them that what they’re doing is wrong and is hurting real people. It’s not a victimless crime and they should think long and hard before they ever do it again.
